I found the driver for the chip on the card, but I'm still to see this cards full potential and windows 10 has been out long enough to have a dedicated driver by now so this is a little disappointing.ĭownload TP-Link TL-WDN4800 450Mbps Wireless N Dual Band PCI Express Adapter Driver For Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, Mac And Linux. The connection and speed is fine on my laptop so it's not my router, but my theory is that there isn't any driver support for windows 10. For adapter settings it is on the left hand side of this menu, Control PanelAll Control Panel ItemsNetwork and Sharing Center. When I test my connection using the wdn4800 it is very inconsistent, it gets incredibly high download speeds for a few seconds, then for around 3 min it goes down to >80 kb/s. It will not show up in wireless adapters when it is not working properlly, it will be in a unidenified devices section. Subsystems in the driver include 168c:3112 (seems to be the SS used). I decided to try out the TP Link T9E AC1900 as I heard they 'released' drivers for Windows 10, and it's still hot garbage. 5 Ghz wifi doesn't work properly and the ping times are horrible. I previously had a TP-Link WDN4800 that shit the bed with Windows 10. I suggest you look elsewhere if you need a PCIe wifi card for Windows 10. My guess is it sort of works with the old windows 8 drivers, so they didn't bother to develop a Windows 10 driver.

A quick look at the drivers does not list Windows 10 on either of the drivers. Have verified with other wifi devices it is the card and not my ISP. Usually takes between 30 seconds to 1 minute for the connection to come back. The card will randomly drop the connection even though the signal is excellent. Same issues with Windows 10 as other users.
